Save the Date!!!

Welcome to the Michael "Bank" Bailey 3 on 3 Basketball Tourney Blog!!

At this time I just wanted you to CLEAR your calenders Saturday April 16th & Sunday April 17th for Parchment's "First" 3 on 3 basketball tournament in Parchment's history; sponsored by Parchment's 7th & 8th grade girls basketball team!!!

What is the occasion you say?!?!

Michael Bailey!!!

Michael Bailey, son of Mike & Brenda Bailey graduated in 2010 from Parchment High school.  The basketball standout was a HUGE part of bringing home a District Championship for his Uncle's (Larry Bailey) Varsity Men's Basketball team in 2010.

Michael is the youngest of 3.  His older sister's (Mallory & Kelsey) also played for their Uncle Larry @ Parchment and went on to play college ball.  (Mal-GOCC) (Kels-K College)

Michael has lived in the gym since he was born.

How do I know?

My brother Rick & I used to live in the gym as well growing up watching our Dad (Dick Bagley) and his buddies; Larry Bailey, Mike Bailey, Mark Kampen, Paul Kampen, Rick Barta, Rich & Chris Fletcher, Rick & John Magnan (My uncles).

These 'boys' played together in High school and went on to play city league.  My highlights growing up were watching them play and playing in the bleachers.
When I was 12 (Wow!! This ages me!!)  Brenda finally gave into me begging her to let me watch Mallory & Kelsey.

Then Michael came along :)  I will never forget how he used to hide under his bed with "Barney" when I would come over.  However that didn't last long!!  Before I knew it, I was spending hours lifting him up to his Nerf hoop so he could dunk.

Next thing I know his Uncle Larry (who would boast & brag like he was his own) had him playing youth basketball (youngest kid out there) showing off his knowledge & skill of the game.

Michael has grown up to be a handsome young man.  His knowledge of the game has blown me away since he was 3.  He would be sitting in the family room with his Dad glued to the t.v. watching the game and I couldn't get over the conversations he would have with big Mike.

Michael has taken my son, Isaiah under his wing and is never too busy to listen\talk to him...or the other kids he has mentored, coached and reffed.

In November of this year, Michael was diagnosed with an inoperable Primary Brain Tumor, which is malignant.
As you can imagine these last two months have been very hard on him and his family.  Because the tumor is inoperable and continuing to cause seizures, it is extremely important that they find a treatment that will be effective.

Please Keep Michael and his family in your prayers!  Nothing is impossible with God!

It just seemed fitting to have a 3 on 3 basketball tournament to show him and his family love and support during this tough time, and in hopes to raise money as they continue to search for an effective treatment.

Invite your friends...Spread the Word...But most importantly keep the Bailey's in your thoughts and prayers.

Stay tuned for more information!!!
